Dancing in the Streets

I had an 'aha' moment recently. For the past few months I've been noticing cats prints all over my car when I wake up in the morning (for some reason only my car). Then, recently I saw Puss in Boots where the cats were dance fighting. It hit then that they're dancing on my car in
the moonlight.

The New Shoes

I just recently picked up a new pair of shoes, and this past weekend my lovely cat Tuna decided that's where she'd vomit her newest hairball into. Ahhhhhh, good times.

Wanna Be Startin' Something

What's better to combine my two loves (my cat Tuna and Michael Jackson) for a tribute. It's really sad he passed. It eerily mirrored Health Ledger and Elvis. It was the first thing I saw as I exited the plane in Wisconsin. Not the way I was hoping to kick off my birthday, but that's life. Obviously there's a million different things that could be said about the man. Either way, it's generally nicer to remember the good times and the fact that he was human...no matter how bizarre. I think I'll dedicate the rest of this month's blog pics to Michael Jackson inspired images.
Eeeeehee!

Man Tuna's been a pain in the ass lately. Sometimes I think we actually adopted Stitch.

A.O.T.D. (Animal of the Day) Tuna, the Wild Domestic House Cat

I think I have O.C.C.D. (Obsessive Compulsive Cat Disorder) She's my animal of the day and no stranger to my blog, my little cat Tuna. She's about 3 1/2 years old now, and can truly be a nightmare, but for the most has brought me more joy than any pet has.

I've really been trying to push my realism lately with my painting. Getting her to pose for this was a challenge, so a lot had to be based off memory and having quick bursts of speed painting when she actually would return to the position. Oh well, I pay her in treats, so she's happy

Memories Of More Innocent Times (?)

A quickie for the illustrationfriday.com theme of "memories. I'll try to be as brief as possible with this. When I first saw my little cat Tuna at the local animal shelter she was with all 9 of her brothers and sisters. At the time they were all nine week old kittens. She was the MOST laid back of all of them, which I liked. All the rest were jumping on, clawing, and biting everything, including me. I saw her just sitting there and even when I picked her up, she just sat there and looked around calmly. Again I liked this, so I picked her.
With the purchase of her came a free vet check up and first round of shots. When we brought her into the vet, they took her temperature and right away the doctor said "Oh, she's sick, she's got a high temp." I was a little worried, but they said no problem, and prescribed some medicine to give her for the next week. Well, I'm really curious what was in those pills, which to this day I'm still convinced was crack or speed, because as soon as we started giving that to her she turned into a nightmare. Basically she turned into the opposite of what I liked about her...her brothers and sisters. All day, running around like a maniac, tearing things up, knocking everything over. If only I knew the terror I had brought home that day...

Just Call Me Angel of the Morning, Aaron

As I opened my eyes this morning, this was the first thing I saw. Tuna, our little cat, will often sit on the ledge above our bed and stare down, waiting for me to wake up and feed her. Or she'll of course coincidentally rustle though papers in the room, until Wow, Aaron and Sarah just happen to be up...even though it's 4 am. The look on our faces at this point is subject to another drawing.

Brighter Days

Man, real estate is a pain in the ass. I suppose it's more or less just a matter of learning it, but the added challenge is living in the Bay Area and trying to escape the renters' rat race and entering homeownership. I'm working hard on it, and so is Sarah, and step by step with a solid plan intact, we will get there.
